New Club Email Forum

To help club members be able to communicate with each other, there is a new Google Group called the AAVC Forum. It is intended to enable club members to share race reports, ask questions, coordinate rides, plan travel to races, or any other club or cycling related topic. All current or recent AAVC members and many friends of the club should have recently received an invitation to join the AAVC Forum Google Group. If you did not, simply visit the group's website and use one of the links to apply for membership. Access is hand-approved so we can keep out the spammers.

Great Lakes wheel building clinic (and discount!)

On Monday, February 21 at 6:00 p.m., Steve and Oscar from Great Lakes Cycling & Fitness will talk about the advantages of hand built wheels over factory wheels and what makes GLCF standout. Participants are encouraged to bring their existing wheels, which can be tested to show what specific strength and performance gains they can expect. For showing up, GLCF will offer everyone 20% off parts (for wheelset purchases). This discount on hand built wheels is a first at GLCF!

Check out more information about GLCF hand built wheels.

Development Program Meeting Summary

Last night at Great Lakes we had the introductory meeting to share some details about the new Development Program. Below is an impromptu video and a copy of the presentation slides to follow along with the video if you missed the meeting but are interested in seeing what happened.

We had a good group attend who shared an interest in improving their racing skills and working with other club members who are interested in doing the same. The Development Program is currently "version 1" so we expect to see it grow and improve over time. If you're interested in additional information or have questions, please contact Lucas Wall.

All Development Program activities will be on the club calendar and open to all club members.

The slides are presented below the video in case you'd like to follow along. The video shows the highlights of the meeting without some parts that are inaudible and some general discussion.
