More miles, more smiles
After several years of dormancy, the AAVC women’s team returned with a bang in 2018
It's time to start planning for the 2019 version of the Ann Arbor Velo Club Women's Team! We're looking to carry forward all the fun we had last year and hopefully recruit some new members!
Like to ride a bike? Want to get better and faster at riding a bike? Then this is the group for you! There will be a strong focus on developing fitness and racing skills/confidence, and perks like a coach, team rides, team funds to be spent on jerseys/racing fees, and meeting lovely women to ride with!
If this sounds at all intriguing, please fill out this quick survey by Friday, March 1 so we can organize for the year
There will be a planning meeting on Monday, March 18, at 6:30 PM in Ann Arbor. More details on that meeting are within the survey. You do not have to be a current member to attend this meeting, this is a chance to learn more about the team.
What we offer: The AAVC Women’s team is a developmental racing team. We welcome cyclists off all abilities, and train with the goal of developing Cat 4 and eventually Cat 3 racers. We ride on road, grass and anywhere in between. We support each other’s individual goals and work together as a team
Who we are: We are a diverse group of women dedicated to growing as cyclists and athletes. Our team includes everyone from the casual biker training for their first weekend tour to serious racers. We offer coached training, and the camaraderie and support you need to push your riding to the next level! Join us on a Monday AAVC ride to meet some of our members and learn more about our team.
Who rides with us: Anyone is welcome! We have women with anywhere from 0 to 20 years of biking experience. Some women have the newest expensive bikes, but many are on a used bike they found on Craigslist!
